Social Media and Digitial Media Marketing Strategist, Karen Civil

Saturday, April 22nd, IMPACT Magazine hosted Women of Impact at the swank Club One, located at AvidXchange Music Factory, Charlotte. The club, owned  by Peter Thomas (Real Housewives of Atlanta), was percolating with extreme levels of #BlackGirlMagic as the agenda focused on women’s empowerment.

The feature, social media and digital media marketing strategist, Karen Civil, was very transparent in her discussion and inspired the crowd with a ‘if I can do it, you can too’ type of perspective. I must admit, it’s always reassuring to hear a ‘rags to riches’ story–especially in today’s society where social media can skew images and perception.

The bill also included the likes of Juliana Richards, a well-respected entrepreneur who got her start in the competitive male dominated e-commerce world, Niya Brown Matthews, an author/motivational speaker, two-time breast cancer survivor, ambassador for Ford Model of Courage, and founder of charity organization, Too Fabulous for Cancer, as well as Shamanda Burston, a licensed therapist, producer, speaker and serial entrepreneur.
