Literally, just a few minutes ago, Mayor Roberts took to the stage at The Underground (820 Hamilton St) to announce ‘Sounds of the Queen City.’ A local hip hop competition, there will be two rounds–one for adults and another for youth.
As mentioned in the press conference, most individuals learn through various art forms and its evident that music helps connect younger audiences as it keeps them interested and focused on the subject matter.
Sounds of the Queen City is a competition where adults and youth will have the opportunity to create and perform a ‘rap’ song about Charlotte. It’s a FREE competition and entries will be accepted beginning Wednesday, March 1st. There will be five finalists, four chosen by the esteemed panel of judges while the fifth selected by popular votes.
More, there is a slew of prizes associated with winning and all details may be found at SoundsOfTheQC.com.
