Many organizations, groups, etc. claim to put on the for the city and unite residents but when it comes to proving it, Sounds of the Queen City (SoQC) is on front street. With the purpose of bringing unity to the QC via arts, they have focused on hip hop as the catalyst for doing so. As this particular genre of music is more than mainstream and everyone thinks they’re a rapper these days, it wasn’t difficult for the word to spread. And, after being flooded with submissions, J Quin (Jason Harkless) was able to pen and perform the perfect anthem for us and them–you see what I did there? (I’m ready to sign…lol.) Salute to the first runner-up, Mel Silas, and the popular vote winner, Big Red (Willis Draughn), as well. #PutOn
